Classmates
Please sign up. This section is fun for all. You can search for a particular classmate and sort by Date of Signup to see new additions or Latest Edit to see revisions to earlier postings.

Due to privacy concerns, we have elected not to provide a link to a file of classmate contact information as we did after our 40th reunion. But one of the cool features of this website is the ability to connect with fellow classmates—assuming the necessary information is posted and kept up-to-date.

How to be found. To opt in to be found by classmates, you need to post or update a profile in the Classmates section, including name, current city, state, and email. It isn't necessary to answer any other question, like street address, occupation, marital status, hobbies, or children or to include comments—though your fellow classmates will be interested in this information. Your email address will be "blinded," and classmates can use the Send a Message link within each profile without learning your email address. They can also use the Where Are They Now feature to see a geographic distribution of class members.

If you've provided a profile in the past, sign in to your profile to see if we have an up-to-date email address and physical location for you. There is a username and password recovery feature if you've forgotten your log in information.

How to find classmates. Using the Send a Message feature is the best way to find Class of 1967 members. For those classmates who haven't posted a profile, you may use the Contact Us form to request that we pass along your inquiry. However, you will not receive a response if the email address we have is outdated.

Even if you do not choose to post a profile on the website, the database that class reunion planners maintain must have a current email address in order to inform you of possible future events. If you change your email address, use the Contact Us link to let us know.

It's exciting looking forward to the 40th reunion. These reunions have a strange effect on me, making me think and feel things I ordinarily wouldn't. You feel like you're living in the past, present, and future all at the same time. You look at things thru the eyes of now and the eyes of then, and they intersect in odd ways. That's the best I can describe it. It's amazing that we have the Internet now to organize this - it gives us capabilities undreamed of before. The Internet would have been science fiction in 1967!! I hope to see a lot of people there. Should be fun. I still live here in Delaware County. (Just want to clarify one thing. Marital Status: Semi-Committed Relationship. Single wasn't quite right, and neither was Committed. Must be precise!)
Grandchildren: None
Hobbies:
I love to play Hold 'Em poker in Atlantic City. I don't win or lose much overall, but I have a lot of fun there - it's very soothing just to sit and play for hours on end. And you meet some unusual people at the tables. I go in and out of reading - my last "in" was Annie Proulx's books. Wine and good food are always "in". Politics and world events are depressing these days, but I'm drawn to them anyway. I like to travel when I get a chance. I also spend time working out with weights.
What are your plans for retirement?:
I see a lot of people here don't want to retire. If my work situation were one I had really loved, I might have felt differently, but as it was I retired in June 2014. I like the idea of getting up when I want, going where I want when I want to go, going to bed whenever, etc.

Hope I can make it to the reunion. Forty years seems like yesterday. The idea of grandchildren is quite foreign to me. I didn't marry until I was forty, so my kids are 10 and 13.
Hobbies: Music
What are your plans for retirement?:
I don't plan on retiring. I tried it once back in 2000 and it did not agree with me. I will probably be playing music forever.

I have been married to Barry for 38 years. We grew up across the street from each other and he is a 1963 graduate of Penncrest. In case you are wondering...our street was the dividing line for the townships. We never strayed too far from home, having lived in DE for 15 yrs and Chester Co, PA for 20 yrs. We moved to an active adult community 3 yrs ago; though neither of us have retired yet, Barry is planning to do so next year. Best move for us, no grass cutting, weeding, mulching, shoveling snow etc. Frees up our time to spend with our grandkids, family & friends. We have 3 wonderful sons who are married to 3 fabulous gals. Our youngest son & his wife don't have children yet so there is hope for maybe a couple more grandkidlets.
Grandchildren: 4
Hobbies:
Walking, Sudoku puzzles, sewing, furniture finishing/refinishing, (Barry's hobby is woodworking-he builds, I finish). Spending time with our 4 grandchildren, who range in ages from 6 1/2 to 3 1/2 years.
What are your plans for retirement?:
After working in furniture retail for 15 years, I started a design consulting business 3 years ago. My husband's hobby plays right into my business as he has done work for some of my clients. I'm not ready to retire yet but maybe in 5 years or so.

I retired from a 40-year career in communications and product management in the healthcare industry in 2011 and now spend a great deal of time volunteering in aging services and for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.  There is so far no silver bullet to return us to the youngsters we once were, and unfortunately, housing, transportation, caregiving, and financial resources are not adequate for a large, longer-lived population with health challenges.

Life, howeer, is not all gloom-and-doom here in Ashland, a small Southern Oregon community blessed with a university, world-class theater, vibrant music ard art scene, burgeoning wine (and pot) industry, great cuisine, beautiful surroundings, and pleasant climate.

I hope to see many of you at our 50th reunion and wish all of us a soft-landing as we continue to age.
Grandchildren: 5
Hobbies:
Considering the sales of my first novel, Touched by Fatality, I'd have to describe writing as a "hobby." It was lots of fun, though.
What are your plans for retirement?:
Writing and serving as an activist on issues facing our generation as we age—issues that impact not just ourselves but also our adult children and grandchildren.

After finishing college in South Carolina in 1971 and on to active duty with the US Army (low draft number), I stayed in Columbia.  South Carolina in the 60's and 70's was pretty wild ... one long weekend we saw Hendrix, the Rebel 400 stock car race and the Who in 3 separate cities.  The Carolina coast was just as much fun and still is -- hope to live there at some point -- a lot of great memories.  Anyway, after getting married to a fantastic woman and finishing active durty,  I took a job with an insurance company in Columbia and stayed there for 20+ years until 1993.  I was very fortunate to have managed various parts of the growing business as well as participating in graduate business programs at Duke and Harvard.  In the early 90's merger mania began.  Through every corporate financial transaction known to modern mankind, i.e. mergers, friendly and unfriendly acquisitions, divestitures, and (my favorite) merger of equals, I progressed through a couple of C level roles and somehow ended up as Chief Operating Officer of Unum Corporation.  I never planned to work for the same corporation my entire career, but the three independent companies I worked with ended up merging, so that kind of sealed my fate.  I've been very fortunate to have been mentored by some impressive business and community leaders over the years and had the opportunity to live in South Carolina; Portland, Maine; and now headquarted in Tennessee -- all three great places to live.  I get to travel throughout the world with the company and have never lost interest in seeing different countries and people.  My favorite place in the US is a small town in big sky country ... Missoula, Montana.  Owned a house there for several years while my daughter finished at UM and then while she worked in Missoula after graduation.  Great place to spend a few weeks every summer.  Unlike Peter Greer, I now spend most of my time working ... daughter now in Nashville in grad school and recently married to a med student.  I look forward to catching up with the Super Week veterans and talking to Peter to see how he avoided a real job all these years.

The biggest impact on my life (which reverberates still) occurred in the 70s when I became a Christian, graduated from seminary and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America.  This strange turn of events surprised many; none more than myself.  God has a sense of humor.  Currently (albeit temporarily) I serve First Presbyterian Church in Gadsden, AL.  Yes, we're orthodox Bible believers.   Yes, I live in the South.  No, I do not handle snakes.  None of this is where I made my money (not that I have a lot; in this & many other areas I cheerfully yield pride of place to my many fellow NP classmates who are smarter and more talented than I am).  I did spend 27 years thrashing about in in the bowels of the bureaucracy of BellSouth until emerging (not completely unscathed) in 2001.  Since then I have run a pre-employment screening firm that does criminal & other background checks.  As I tell folks, it's a fun occupation if you're a nosey person.  I may not know what you did last summer but I can probably find out.  Along the way I did have the sense (after crashing & burning once) to obtain a wife who is not my equal.  She is qualitatively superior in many ways.
Grandchildren: 5
Hobbies:
As Tim Powell will attest, I have no musical ability. None. Tim's late father - a kind, patient man and a talented musician tried rectifying things to no avail. The best of teachers need something to work with. But over the years I have developed a passion for opera. Listening & following, not performing, of course. And to any fellow classmates who share my interest I am pleased to report that I once kissed the hand of Renata Tebaldi.

Let it also be noted that I remain devoted to the Philadelphia Phillies, a source of continual frustration that I have passed on to my son. Who passed it on to his wife. I hope they will both forgive me.
What are your plans for retirement?: Did my wife put this question up to you?

After high school I attended college, got married and moved to the Bahamas all within 4 yrs. I stayed in the Bahamas for most of the next 22 years. I did take a break in 1979 and did a 10 month trip around the world on a 120 ft  boat with about 30 other people.
Returned to the Bahams and then moved to the British Virgin Islands for several years. Returned again to the Bahamas, got married again and had my son. In 1989 after my husband passed away suddenly, we left the Bahamas and moved to NV for a year and then Colorado where we stayed for 8 years. I was then onto TX for a year and  then to HI where we are still located on an island with an active lava flow!
I home schooled my son up to 5th grade. While we lived in CO we had an RV and traveled back and forth across the US several times. We also took trips to Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, & England. We recently did a trip to China and I ventured to Mexico on my own to check out a retirement spot. Still have a lot of travel left on my bucket list.
I did recently go sky diving so that is off of the list.

Technically I suppose I am retired yet somehow I don’t feel that “retired” is an accurate reflection of my status.  I manage an important regional motorcycle show which is a full time undertaking for about 1/3 of the year and part-time for the balance.  I still do some engineering work for various motorsports clients though it seems like there less of this with each passing season.  This schedule allows me the discretionary time required to follow up on some of my other (some will say “misguided”) adventures. Since our 40th I’ve completed a 12,000+ mile motorcycle ride to the four corners of the USA, visiting hospitalized kids along the way and raising some $10,000 for one of my favorite charities, I had the chance to compete at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats and establish a number of motorcycle land speed records including several at over 200mph, participated in a major vintage motorcycle rally in Italy – I rode 1000 miles and the full length of the nation on a 62 year old, 175cc, 8 horsepower machine.  There’s more. I won’t bore you. Suffice to say, I seem to be able to keep myself busy and amused and plan to continue doing so.

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to the committee for their efforts in planning the class of ‘67’s 50th reunion. I’m sure it will be another extraordinary event and I’m sad to say that I won’t be able to be there to share it with you. Unfortunately other commitments will take me out of town that weekend. However I’m sure to be thinking of you that evening and I do regret that I’ll miss seeing everyone. I also feel a little sad knowing that any “next” opportunity to get together is speculative at best.  In the meantime I’d like to wish each and every one of you all the best.  Enjoy the evening and enjoy every minute of every day! Get in touch if you feel so inclined – would love to hear from any of you. Go Bulldogs!

Hobbies:
My hobbies remain unchanged-flying, motorcycling and adventure travel with my wife.
What are your plans for retirement?:
Theoretically I suppose I am retired. But I seem to have as much going on as ever.

My story--- After graduating from Gettysburg College, I worked for the now defunct Franklin Mint for a year before getting a computer programming job with the dreaded IRS!! I worked in DC for a little over 2 years . When Dick and I got married in 1974, I moved to NJ and worked  for Prudential in various programmer and analyst  assignments for 38 years.  Both Dick and I retired in the summer of 2012 and have never looked back!!   Both our sons shunned our alma mater and studied at Syracuse University ---hence my avid interest in Syracuse sports!! The older one (Steven) majored in biochemistry and is currently a manager at Johnson & Johnson  He married his college sweetheart (Erin) in 2005 and are the proud parents of our only grandchild.  Juliette is about to start 1st grade in the fall and keeps us all on our toes!  Our other son (Jim) double majored in newspaper journalism and history at Syracuse and went on to get a law degree at Boston College. He also married his college sweetheart (Katie).  Jim and Katie and their little dog (Gus) currently live and work in Manhattan but are hoping to give up apartment living and buy a house in NJ before the year is out.   Meanwhile Dick and I have spent a lot of our retirement either planning a trip or taking one.  Since retiring we have traveled to the Caribbean, Hawaii, France, Alaska, and Disneyworld.  This year we also went on a safari in South Africa, traveled to Amsterdam where we started a Rhine River cruise and then spent 5 days in Switzerland. Immediately after  our reunion we leave for the Canadian Rockies. It seems every year we add new places to our bucket list --- we hope to travel as long as our health and finances allow!!  It is really hard to wrap my head around the fact that it has been half a century since NPHS graduation!!  Looking forward to seeing all of you this fall!
