Classmates
Please sign up. This section is fun for all. You can search for a particular classmate and sort by Date of Signup to see new additions or Latest Edit to see revisions to earlier postings.
Due to privacy concerns, we have elected not to provide a link to a file of classmate contact information as we did after our 40th reunion. But one of the cool features of this website is the ability to connect with fellow classmates—assuming the necessary information is posted and kept up-to-date.
How to be found. To opt in to be found by classmates, you need to post or update a profile in the Classmates section, including name, current city, state, and email. It isn't necessary to answer any other question, like street address, occupation, marital status, hobbies, or children or to include comments—though your fellow classmates will be interested in this information. Your email address will be "blinded," and classmates can use the Send a Message link within each profile without learning your email address. They can also use the Where Are They Now feature to see a geographic distribution of class members.
If you've provided a profile in the past, sign in to your profile to see if we have an up-to-date email address and physical location for you. There is a username and password recovery feature if you've forgotten your log in information.
How to find classmates. Using the Send a Message feature is the best way to find Class of 1967 members. For those classmates who haven't posted a profile, you may use the Contact Us form to request that we pass along your inquiry. However, you will not receive a response if the email address we have is outdated.
Even if you do not choose to post a profile on the website, the database that class reunion planners maintain must have a current email address in order to inform you of possible future events. If you change your email address, use the Contact Us link to let us know.

Comment:
I am working on two major projects: first, since 2011, I have founded and I direct a nonprofit corporation that advocates for 100,000 Dineh ("Navajo") indigenous people. I will be presenting an update of my work at a conference in NYC on 6/4/17 called the Left Forum. Information on the corporation is at the website dinehforcedexile.com. If you would consider contributing to the corporation, I can assure you that 100% of your contribution goes to advocacy. I have not taken a single penny for my work and have spent nothing on fund raising or overhead. Dineh Forced Exile, Inc., is a 501 nonprofit so your contribution is not tax deductible. I am applying for 501c3 status. Second, I am one of our nations 7,000 board certified geriatricians. I am a geriatric geriatrician, an even smaller number. I am working toward being a geriatric consultant in private practice in Western Massachusetts and Southern VT. See my Facebook Page Cullen F Shipman MD for details.

Comment: My husband Jon and I met at Dickinson College, and have been married for 35 years this August (or as Jon says, "Six good days!"). My father passed away in 1970, while I was at D'son, and my mother suffered with Alzheimer's, passing away in 1976. I moved to Boston after college, got engaged, got married, and moved to SC (BIG TIME culture shock!) I went to law school at USC, and was on the National Moot Court Team (first woman) -- I was also pregnant with my daughter, Sarah. After law school, I was fortunate to land the position of Assistant U.S. Attorney (first woman in SC). I started out in criminal prosecution, and was transferred to the civil section after the birth of my son, Matthew. My son Whit was born in 1983, and four years later, I transferred within the Dept. of Justice to the U.S. Trustee's Office. Sarah went to Boston College for a year, and transferred to Florida State, where she met her wonderful husband, Mark. They live in Atlanta with their three boys, Parker (4), Ford (2), and Porter (9 mos.) She is a commercial and residential gas sales manager for SCANA Corp. Matthew graduated with honors from Wofford College, and this past May graduated from USC Law School, and Moore Business School with his IMBA on the Spanish track. He interned with Air Products Corp., in Barcelona, giving mom and dad a wonderful opportunity to visit, with a weekend jaunt to Majorca. He has passed the bar, and is working for a real estate investment and development corp., while interviewing for a position with a law firm. My youngest, Whit, graduated from the A.B.Freeman School of Business at Tulane, and is employed by UBS as an investment portfolio manager in NYC, living in Soho. I am crazy about my children and grandchildren; they are wonderful company, and we all gather in Maine every summer for golf, tennis, family poker, lobster, and shopping in Freeport. Jon and/or I have done some travelling to Australia, England, France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, and many of the Caribbean Islands; consequently, we are currently banned from those places. Our children have travelled much more than we have, and I'm pretty sure Matthew is banned from Romania. My husband's parents are in their mid-80s, so we stay"on call". There is a lake house, a farm, and two beach retreats in the family, but the farm is the only venue we frequently visit (there are some nice bass in the 3 acre pond). My husband and boys are avid hunters, and fishermen, and all the kids are sports enthusiasts. My work takes me to Charleston, which is a wonderful place. I am looking forward to seeing my classmates in May.
Grandchildren: | 3 |
Hobbies: Sleeping, watching "The Closer", "Grey's Anatomy" "House", "Boston Legal", "24" and "Jeopardy" (if I haven't fallen asleep), reliving my childhood through and corrupting my grandchildren, (still) vacationing in Maine each summer, picking up fast food for dinner, dyeing my roots, lying about what a great athlete I was in high school (shut up, Buckley), killing houseplants, walking and anger management (performed simultaneously), traveling to nearby places, and triathlons (lying again!)
What are your plans for retirement?: See Hobbies, above. Btw, we call it "graduating", not retiring. I hope to travel more frequently to not so nearby places, visit my children and grandchildren often, read recreationally, write the Great American Novel, garden seriously, maybe teach at the law school, finally participate in organizations and causes I truly believe in, do projects I've had on the back burner since bc (before children), be artsy, and cook. I'll have my 30 years in with the Feds this December. My work is in the bankruptcy area, and thanks to the new and improved (?) Code, I may actually retire shortly after my 30 years are in. |

My oldest stepson, Rick, graduated college in 3 years, was working as a systems anaylist, & had just bought his first house when he was killed October 28th by a drunk driver in Penn State, 16 days after his 21st birthday. Looking forward to sunnier days in 2007 and seeing old classmates again.

Comment: I have been enjoying checking this site and reading the posts and figure I should add one to the collection. Thanks so much to the organizers of the reunion for all your work so far. I am a high school psychology teacher and love dealing with today’s teens – and they really aren’t that much different inside from us back when. I “see” so much of us. I think of many of you from time to time. ( I even tell a few stories the kids enjoy.) Last year the senior play was “the Man Who Came to Dinner”!!! I had the male lead in class and when I told him my history with the show he was thrilled. He asked if I ever want to act again and I told him I do everyday!.....my audience is 124 teenagers! At the time of the 25th I was exhausted from coursework for my Masters Degree, two active sons, and teaching full time –so I only took part in the actual dinner. I enjoyed that immensely, but regretted not having more time and energy to really hear more of life’s stories – I plan to not make that error again! I am looking forward to discovering the people you are now. I’ve been married to the love of my life for 37 years and we have two great sons and one lovely new daughter in law. No grandkids yet – and probably won’t for awhile. I’ve had fun doing the Mommy things and teaching for close to 25 years. I’ve played around with politics and assorted crusades of minor significance. The only thing I know for sure is that just as soon as you think you have everything all planned out – something comes along and turns it upside down, but for me the change has always turned out better than I expected! I hope a lot of people can make it in May – and if not – at least post some news on where things have led you.

Comment: Ffity years is a lot to sum up in a few paragraphs. After graduating from NPHS and college. I worked at Jefferson Medical College in Philly for 4 years as a research assistant. I also spent 2 years working for the public health service traveling the country with a mobile medical lab. Events led me to relocate to Texas where I embarked on a career change in computers and electronics where I am been working now since 1974. I spent 13 1/2 years at a company called Datapoint in San Antonio, Texas where I worked in engineering and product development. Shortly after getting laid off from that company in 1990, I landed a job at IBM where I have been working since. Incidentally the layoff from Datapoint provided me with the best summer I ever had as I was getting full pay for 7 months while I relaxed at the beach. Post Polio Syndrome has caught up with me so I am no longer as mobile (Actually I move faster because I have a fast Power Chair) Breathing issues are keeping me grounded though so no more flying :(.
What are your plans for retirement?: Do not plan to retire |

Comment:
I've been in North Carolina for nearly 45 years - I have worked in mental health for 39 years (hasn't effected me a bit, hasn't effected me a bit...)I still get back to the Philly area once or twice each year - one of my younger brothers has the family home in Wallingford, so we try to have gatherings there or with my two other brothers in Vermont each year. I still pull for all of the Philadelphia teams (they still break my heart each year, but the Phillies did win the world series in 2008 - no so good right now). Our daughter was married on the Outer Banks in 2011 and we travel to visit them in Richmond as often as possible to see the grand girls, Riley and Harper - just back from a vacation |
|
Grandchildren: | 3 |
Hobbies: Woodworking, reading, weight lifting/cardio at the gym, traveling with wife and friends on the back roads of North Carolina, getting to the beach as often as possible.
What are your plans for retirement?: I am actually retired, but they want me to stay active and pay me full time for about 15 to 20 hours a week. Able to get to the gym 3 to 5 days per week and I\'ve been able to access several new Y\'s and facilities through \"Silver Sneakers\". My family is spread over the East coast, and we are getting together more often in Vermont, Maine, Virginia, Philly, and Florida. My dad will be turning 95 next year - life in Fort Myers appeals to him very much - plan to spend more time in Florida with him and other we are planning a 95th birthday for him now. |
