Classmates
Please sign up. This section is fun for all. You can search for a particular classmate and sort by Date of Signup to see new additions or Latest Edit to see revisions to earlier postings.
Due to privacy concerns, we have elected not to provide a link to a file of classmate contact information as we did after our 40th reunion. But one of the cool features of this website is the ability to connect with fellow classmates—assuming the necessary information is posted and kept up-to-date.
How to be found. To opt in to be found by classmates, you need to post or update a profile in the Classmates section, including name, current city, state, and email. It isn't necessary to answer any other question, like street address, occupation, marital status, hobbies, or children or to include comments—though your fellow classmates will be interested in this information. Your email address will be "blinded," and classmates can use the Send a Message link within each profile without learning your email address. They can also use the Where Are They Now feature to see a geographic distribution of class members.
If you've provided a profile in the past, sign in to your profile to see if we have an up-to-date email address and physical location for you. There is a username and password recovery feature if you've forgotten your log in information.
How to find classmates. Using the Send a Message feature is the best way to find Class of 1967 members. For those classmates who haven't posted a profile, you may use the Contact Us form to request that we pass along your inquiry. However, you will not receive a response if the email address we have is outdated.
Even if you do not choose to post a profile on the website, the database that class reunion planners maintain must have a current email address in order to inform you of possible future events. If you change your email address, use the Contact Us link to let us know.

I don't even know where to begin. So I won't. I really look forward to the 26th. Also, this is the first time I've seen the photo taken of me, Jean, and BC at our last reunion 15 years ago. It never found its way home. Does anyone know where it is? (And, it's a pretty good photo -- did they have photoshop back then?) Many THANKS to the reunion coordinating team -- you've done an awesome job! |

What are your plans for retirement?: I've worked in and around universities for almost 35 years, so one of these days I plan to graduate, at which time I'd like to move to writing full time and become the next Joan Didion. Or, just publishing something would be ok. |

2017 Update I thought I’d bring this up to date before our 50th reunion (!) in a little over a week. What an amazing gift to all of us to be able to regroup after all this time and share so manyh life experiences! Life for me remains as interesting and occasionally challenging as ever. On October 29, 2012, the lower floor of our loft on the Hudson River in lower Manhattan was badly flooded in Superstorm Sandy. I narrowly escaped drowning — and this has made me even more grateful for whatever time I have. After 3 1/2 years, we have rebuilt and now have an even more beautiful home on the river. I go out walking around sunset most days. My home music studio was destroyed in the flood, and I am slowly rebuilding it. In the meantime, I dove more deeply into my photography of the Hudson River and NYC architecture. You can check it out here: https://timwoodpowell.smugmug.com/New-York-City My management consulting business continues to develop in interesting ways — I have been lucky to work with a range of companies in a range of industries. I blog about my work here: http://www.knowledgevaluechain.com/ I self-published a new edition of my latest book The Knowledge Value Chain Handbook in 2014, and it has now been adopted as a required text at Columbia University’s innovative Information and Knowledge Strategy program. I also teach master’s degree students there. I find I love the lecturing and slide design — thanks for the inspiration, Mr. Profeta! I also find myself enjoying counseling and mentoring students. Both my sons have married since my last note. My older son Mike (35) now lives in Tucson, where he is a freelance writer for Apple and other clients. His wife Annie is a program developer at the University of Arizona, and they have two boys — my grandsons — Ellis (2 1/2 years) and Marlon (eight months). My younger son Dave (32) lives in Boston, where he is a software engineer for Kensho Technologies. His wife Megan works in sales for Kyruus, a healthcare software startup. My beloved sister Susie is married to a great guy, Ed Murphy. She recently had two back surgeries to correct a long-developing condition, and now seems to finally be on the mend. I remain “happily unmarried” to Ellen Matson, the wonderful gal I met shortly after being divorced in 1988. To her I owe so much. I have been practicing yoga and paying more attention to staying fit and healthy. I find myself generally happier now than at any previous time in my life. More than you wanted to know, no doubt. I look forward to catching up soon with many of you! 2007 Update On Wednesday morning, June 16, 2004, my parents died together in a fire. The fire was in their house – and my boyhood home, owned by my family for 50 years. Some of you had been there, the old yellow “farmhouse” at the corner of Wallingford Avenue and Shepherd’s Lane, not far from the Wallingford train station. In settling my parents’ affairs I returned to Wallingford many times (as I did pretty often my whole life) and it brought back fond memories of my years there—which was all of them, until I left for college. (Our first house was behind the Wallingford Elementary School, which I attended until second grade, before transferring to the “brand new” Summit School.) Through my college friend Kell Damsgaard—yes, the same one who is also in our high school class—I reconnected with another NP classmate, Rick Clarkson. Rick helped my sister Susie and me manage the estate affairs, and did a thorough and excellent job. I don’t know how we would have coped without his guidance and follow-through. At my parents’ memorial service I was surprised and delighted to see Kell, who kindly brought along his mother. Then whom should I turn around and see but Messrs. Profeta and Canamucio! Two of my favorite teachers—anywhere—and both of whom had a major impact on me. It’s testimony to the bonds we formed at NPHS that 40 years later we can still vividly remember the importance of these people at a crucial time in our lives. Some of you may recall singing with Miss Houck and the Meistersingers. At the time I didn’t always appreciate how advanced some of the music she had us tackle is. One of these was a Robert Frost poem, “The Road Not Taken”, set to music. My life, in a nutshell, has been one of taking “the road less traveled by”, as the poem goes. I’m curious by nature, and have been lucky enough to be able to exercise that curiosity. At various times I have worked professionally as a management consultant; author (two books published, one on the way); university professor; insurance underwriter; psychologist; government analyst; radio broadcaster; guitarist and songwriter; and sound recording producer. I was “there” at Woodstock and at 9/11, both of which had a huge and lasting impact on me. I’ve been a management consultant since getting my MBA in 1979, specializing business strategy and information management. I’ve worked during that time with about 100 companies, ranging from American Express to Xerox. I now have my own small firm, and live with my “life partner” Ellen Matson beside the Hudson River in downtown Manhattan. I walk to work—just as I walked to NPHS every day all those years ago with my neighbors, 67-ers Herb Bowsher and the late Bob Ogg. From a previous marriage, I have two wonderful sons: Mike (24) writes about music and the arts for several magazines and web sites; Dave (21) studies computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). If I were to be remembered as nothing more than their father, it would be enough. It was a blast seeing so many of you at the reunion. My special thanks go to Anne, Nancy, and all the others who helped to make it a really special weekend |

Hobbies: I have just completed a 3 year project of remodeling a house inside and out. Landscaping and painting are great releases of stress for me. I even get outside paying jobs doing both. I have done great designs in gardens with stone work. I also go to Ocean City, NJ quite often and walk miles on the beaches. Great hobby... walking!
What are your plans for retirement?: I think I will just teach FOREVER! I thoroughly enjoy my job. I have been teaching for 25 years at the elementary level. I teach 5th grade, but I am also the lead 5th grade teacher and the lead elementary math teacher (K-6) for the entire school district. My one daughter (30) out did me... she teaches high school math and became the chairman of the department after only 6 years of teaching. My other daughter (28) sells newly built homes... she is truly business minded. I'll retire if one of them will give me grandchildren!! |

Comment: I am married for the second time. I was divorced in 1976 and remarried in 1996. I have two children from my first marriage. Christie is now 37 and has two children: Brooke(4) and Dylan(4mos). They live in Wilmington with husband Kevin. Shane(34) is my son and lives here with his significant other (Ani), and I think I work for him now. After NPHS I went to school in Missouri for a short while, then went to Mexico City to study with Rich Smith at a university for a couple of years. What a trip that was. “Grew Up” there (probably never really will), got sick, went back to states, found a specialist and went to PMC (Penn Morton College then), got married, went into insurance(very short), ended up in Avalon doing real estate over 35 years ago and I still can’t find a “real job”. My wife Sheila is an attorney and practices from our home. She has a daughter Ali(38) and a grandson MJ (12). Thanks to Anne and company for doing such a great job in setting up this reunion and this website. Without you all being so tenacious in contacting everyone this would have never happened. THANKS!!!

First a thank you to the committee for the hard work and time to get the reunion organized. There is just too much water under the bridge over these past forty years so to sum things up quickly, life is good and I'm always grateful. My son just graduated from Virginia Tech. He has my heart. I'm remarried to a wonderful women who has my love. I've been in private practice since 1981 and after twenty six years I still find my profession rewarding. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. |

Grandchildren: | two by second marriage, ages four and two |
Hobbies: Street rods, boating and motorcycles. Raced sports cars for a number of years then went vintage racing for a while. As my son grew I got him involved with cart racing so at that point I started building street rods. I keep active so I guess living life is a hobby in and of itself.
What are your plans for retirement?: As much as I want to retire some days, I'm sure I'd miss the work. |

What are your plans for retirement?: I think more about my mortality and worry about running out of time and not having the physical strengh and mental acuity to master new skills. I studied a little Mandarin Chinese before we went to China last year and I hate to say it, but that\\\'s one skill I won\\\'t be mastering this lifetime. At least I still have the physical strengh to carry a long board from the parking lot to the water. |

My life after high school til now in a nutshell: I graduated from Rutgers with a degree in Russian and went to work for the Immigration Service in New York. There I met a great guy named Pete Riley and married same great guy a few years later. When we had our first daughter, Amanda, I decided to be a stay-at-home parent. I really enjoyed performing my full time mother/Scout leader/school volunteer/chauffer/emergency day care provider/etc. role. Katie arrived six years after Amanda and in 1987 we moved to Virginia, where we've been ever since. When the kids got older I went to work for the Fairfax County schools, working with children with developmental disabilities, mainly autism. I'm now completely retired from work in school but have a new part-time job, caring for my two-year-old grandson, Ben, two days a week. He keeps me hopping and I love it! That old saw about being busier than ever in retirement seems to be true for me; my calendar rarely has an open day on it. That's a good thing! I'm looking forward to our 50th and catching up with old friends. |

I\'ve never stopped singing, and it\'s always been a big part of my life. Currently I sing with a fine community chorale and am lucky to also be the vocalist with a small jazz band, performing music from the Great American Songbook and beyond. Still a ham at heart, I love to get up in front of an audience with microphone in hand! Since I\'ve been retired I\'ve also become an active volunteer in the world of low vision. I\'m constantly in awe of the heroic people I\'ve met who manage to carry on a rich life in spite of their special needs. |
